Fundraising Events
Ritzy Trees stems from a nationwide fundraiser called Festival of Trees, in which holiday trees are elaborately decorated — each with its own theme and related gifts — to be auctioned off for a specific cause or benefit. It was here on the coastside — in collaboration with the Ritz Carlton, Half Moon Bay — that Ritzy Trees was conceived and successfully implemented as CFMC’s and the BGC’s foremost annual fundraiser. In addition to trees for live auction, we will have wreaths and various table-top items available for silent auction and/or raffle prizes.
Last year, over 300 guests joined us at the Ritz-Carlton to celebrate and support the services and programs of our respective organizations. Through sponsorships, ticket sales, raffles, and auction items, as well as donations, we raised almost $50,000 funding operational costs that allow CFMC to provide quality healthcare on the coast.
Each year local businesses and designers come together to display their creative talents by displaying an assortment of decorations, including designer table-top trees, wreaths and other holiday fare.
In addition to the live auction, new this year was the “Champagne Jewel Quest” — a chance to win a 1-carat diamond (valued at $6,500), the “Riace Wine Pull” for a vintage Italian wine (valued up to $250), as well as several items for silent auction and raffle.
Coastside Family Medical Center is currently seeking sponsorships and volunteers for the 2008 Ritzy Trees Gala. Professional designers and decorators are especially needed to create one-of-a-kind holiday trees.
