After completing her 4-year combined residency training in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, Dr. Peterson was asked to serve as Pediatric Chief Resident and Clinical Associate in the Department of Pediatrics at Duke University Medical Center.  Recently relocating from North Carolina, Dr. Peterson is excited to join the primary care medical team at the clinic. She enjoys hiking, running, and gourmet cooking, and is eager to assist with ongoing public health initiatives and community projects on the coast.

Susan Pike, R.N., P.N.P.
Practicing since 1988, Susan holds her BA from UC Davis in Spanish, a BS in Nursing from Creighton University, and her Nurse Practitioner's MA from Fresno State. Susan and hubby Kelly live in Half Moon Bay with their twin 13 year-olds, Rebecca and Alex. As a family, they all enjoy sailing, kayaking, and music. Susan has served on the board for Seacrest School and Holy Family Episcopal Church and has been a Girl Scout Troop Leader for many years. Her philosophy on Pediatrics is that "it's critical to involve kids in their choices and that patients should feel comfortable with Providers at our Center so they can come in feeling safe and listened to no matter what the issue is." Susan also utilizes her bilingual abilities in Spanish here in order to ensure cultural integration of our Latino community here on the Coastside. Her pediatric priorities include getting patients in and out as quickly and efficiently as possible while meeting all of their needs and tying in educational messages to all appointments. Susan also likes that the Center focuses on each patient in the same way, despite economic means or insurance. In addition to Susan's family, they have two bunnies and two guinea pigs.
