Coastside Family Medical Center & Kaiser Permanente Collaborate on Community Health Fair
Half Moon Bay, Calif. (June 12, 2008) — Coastside Family Medical Center (CFMC) announced today their collaboration with Kaiser Permanente for its first annual “Thriving on the Coastside” Health Fair. The goal of the health fair is to provide access to free health and wellness services to the coastal community, especially disadvantaged families. By providing a comprehensive, one-day fair, CFMC and Kaiser Permanente hope to educate and assist approximately 300 residents with various health questions and issues.
Ritzy Trees Gala Raises Over $70,000
Half Moon Bay, Calif. (December 3, 2007) — Coastside Family Medical Center and The Boys & Girls Club of the Coastside successfully hosted their 2nd annual Ritzy Trees event at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay, the evening’s title sponsor, on November 27, 2007. The event raised over $70,000.00, which benefited their respective nonprofits.
Coastside Family Medical Center Receives $1.32 Million Grant from Stanford Hospital & Clinics
Stanford, Calif. (November 26, 2007 ) — Stanford Hospital & Clinics (SHC) today announced a $1.32 million grant to Coastside Family Medical Center (CFMC) of Half Moon Bay. CFMC serves more than 8,000 residents on the San Mateo County coast, providing family practice and pediatric services and offering primary care, OB/GYN, x-ray and lab services, a confidential teen clinic and referrals to specialists. The agreement comes as CFMC solidifies its role as an independent non-profit agency providing critical health services to the coast’s rural population.

Local health organizations are gearing up to help combat asthma, a chronic disease that has become increasingly prevalent across the nation in the last decade.
The Coastside Family Medical Center has received a grant to train about a dozen health organizers to help with the respiratory disease. Cecilia Murillo, director of development for the health center, says the health workers will be trained particularly to help children and Hispanic families.
